A Self-Directed Short Course

Welcome to LIVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE, an interactive film-based training that explores how freedom of belief contributes to peaceful and stable societies, empowers women, and encourages business innovation.

To receive a human rights certificate, please watch the four short films below and submit your evaluation quiz at the end of the training course.  After you submit your answers to the evaluation quiz, you will receive a certificate.

Discussion questions and curriculum accompany these docudramas. Our goal is to educate, empower, and equip participants about the benefits of freedom of belief in our communities.

 

Certificate Training

Our certificate e-course includes 4 short films and reflection activities.

Our expert trainers equip participants to foster inclusion, diversity and freedom of belief in the workplace and civil society.

Our participants learn how to craft compelling conversations to share their human rights and religious freedom message with their community.

 

Course Outcomes

Improve understanding of human rights and religious freedom 

Recognize religious-based bias and how it affects peace building, gender equality and business economies

Foster respect for differing beliefs, traditions and world-views

Assess stereotypes that may influence behavior in the workplace and society

Encourage equity, diversity, inclusion and multi-faith living. 

 

Course Length

Individually: 60-90 Minutes

In Groups: Four Sessions, 30 Minutes Each

Episode 1: What is freedom of belief?
 

 

  1. What does freedom of religion or belief mean to you? Do you think religious freedom means something different to others? If so, how?
  1. Do you believe freedom of belief is a right we are all born with? If so, what are the implications in your community and workplace?
  1. Please share article 18 in your own words. What is the most important part to you? How does article 18 support women and minorities?
  1. Why do some people think that freedom is a sin or taboo? How can you address this concern in a positive way?

 

Episode 2: Freedom of belief is good for peace and security
 

 

1. Based on your experience, how can religious freedom promote peace and security?

2. In what ways does a one religion state or religiously restrictive country encourage corruption, discrimination or violence?

3. Many nations have laws that protect freedom of conscience and religion, but their leaders don’t enforce them. What are some practical ways that you can encourage others to support the constitutional rights that protect religious liberty?

4. What are some practical steps communities can take to protect women and minorities from religious based conflict or violence?

Episode 3: Freedom of belief is good for women’s empowerment
 

 

1. How are religious freedom and women’s rights mutually supportive or interdependent?

2. How do you feel religious freedom advances gender equality and women’s rights?

3. Why should society protect women from cultural or religious-based discrimination? 

4. How does freedom of belief (Article 18) protect the individual, not a religion or religious institution? Why is this distinction important?
